Compact Grill
It's not a tailgate unless you have a barbeque, so make sure this is one of the top items on your packing list! If you want some delicious wings, burgers, or hot dogs, you'll want to have one of these on hand.
Cooking Tools
The food isn't going to cook itself on the grill, so you'll need some tools to handle the food safely:

- Tongs
- Knife
- Cutting board
- Meat thermometer
- Grilling gloves

Food, Beverages, and Supplies
And of course, you're going to need the actual food. And you'll need to pair it with utensils (plates, napkins, utensils) and drinks. A good tip is to store your drinks in a cooler with plenty of ice. Also, plastic bottles, cups, or aluminum cans are the best options; you don't want glass shards to be laid out. The glass can hurt people and your tires on the way out if not careful, so it's best to avoid glass containers. Lastly, bring garbage bags to clean up after yourself once the tailgate is over.

As mentioned earlier, music is a staple at a tailgate. Whether you prefer to heat pregame coverage or your favorite songs, your speakers will keep everyone in your group entertained.
Power
The last important item to add to your tailgating packing list is a power generator - you're going to need to fire up your grill, TV, radio, etc., somehow! You don't want to power up all your devices with your vehicle as it can drain your battery real fast. A portable generator will give you enough juice to last you throughout the day.
