I was fortunate that the mechanic had worked for Chrysler and knew exactly what the problem was. The after market anti-theft device shorted out and caused my engine to not start. My car is a 2013 with low miles so it took a while to fail. I was told the mechanic was old enough to have experience with this. It was suggested to me by another auto shop that it could be my computer because they thought I tried to charge the battery with reversed terminals. Nope.. absolutely not! It was just a guessing game for them and if they started with the computer to eliminate the possibilities, that is a very expensive place to start. Word to the wise: if you have an after Market anti-theft device but also keyless entry, get that removed and have them rewire it correctly. Really pleased and will go back.
Wow Kytaric, thank you for all that information. What a mess but I am happy we got you going again. I look forward to seeing You and your Chrysler in the future. Renae Lorentz
